Rescue Orange Series

In a fashion-wise and fitting move, Casio is releasing an all orange (band and case around black dials with white indicia) mixed set of slightly vintage style watches called the Rescue Orange Series.

Stussy X X G-Shock DW5600

Once again Stussy has teamed up with G-Shock to produce a collaboration DW5600 watch product – this time with a checkerboard theme and branding on the dial and upscale round tin package with the Stussy logo in the backlight. Why they are using Van’s signature checkerboard is beyond me – seems a little pushy, but I don’t know what is on their minds these days. MSRP for the wristwatch is $350. and is still available from their stores.
Another special edition, a DW56w00 in mostly white with black indicia and readout was issued to commemorate the 2014 FIFA World Cup Championship. MSRP for the watch is $250.  A June release, exclusively in their own stores, and at this writing is still available.

When I read Joe’s post on watchuseek.com I had to smile. It was like a kid on Christmas morning the way he enjoyed his new Gulfmaster watch. I thought I would share some of that post with you all here. But first, here are some things Casio would have you know about this product.

And as the owner of it he has the confidence that he can wear it without it showing wear and tear since it is ion plated and sports a sapphire crystal.

Aviation Series G-Shock Watches

Casio has hit on a winning formula and they are running with it. All analog dial (you know, sweeping hands, subdials, and, except for the newest model GA1000 and a couple of the older, discontinued models, no digital numeric readouts), round case, thick, chunky, and with lots of nifty features, the Aviation Series (aka, Sky Cockpit, Gravity Defyer, Gravity Master) watches appeal to more prospective buyers than you’d expect. Amazon is doing a brisk business with a few of these products.

Casio Never Stops Tinkering

It was a year later and already Casio had renewed its Bluetooth smart watch products to a “second generation” with increased compatibility and useful functions. They bet heavily on certain standards becoming mainstream: Bluetooth 4.0, Android KitKat, third party app development and popularity of features such as music control and clock setting.
