Casio held back on announcements for new releases to the Japanese domestic market for a couple months – now there is an avalance of new products and for G-Shock fans, some are worth getting excited about. Noteworthy among most of the March releases is Casio’s strong new lean toward “stealth.”
Contrary to G-Shock’s standard of filling their watch products face, bezel and even their bands with lettering, the “BB” and “WW” watches are delightfully free of almost all the labels. I’m certain that there is a large percentage of their customer base that like the traditional busy, busy, but there is also a market for these “clean-stealthy” products as well. This blog hopes that the experiment goes well for Casio so that we can continue to have core G-Shock feature-rich “solid colors” timepieces as options..

The GA-150 series is a new ani-digi line that, like it’s predecessors (GA100, GA110, & GA120), touts extra large cases and an anti-magnetic feature. These first two models will be released in March and over the coming months the series will expand into colorful editions, a couple of which are already shown in another post on this blog (click here to check them out)
The GW-2310 (below) is not a new watch but this dark, serious colorway is a welcome update on a product that has proven itself through it’s several iterations. Solar and atomic (multiband-6) with reverse display, IP black bezel and stainless button release bracelet, make it as contemporary as any newer Casio offering.
As you would expect, new G-Shock releases usually include DW6900 models, the “comfort food” of G’s. These (following) two new colorways are being added to the attractive “metallic dial” series – when they hit the USA will likely be in the $99 range. Since 1983, there has been a 5600 style product in the G-Shock mix – here, almost two decades later, we have the latest version in three conservative colorways with a choice of resin or composite metal-core band. All three watches feature solar charging and atomic time-setting.Again, Watchtanaka gives us a close look at this watch (1080p, full screen for best view)
There can be no doubt, the GXW-56KG-3JF is one of the most butch watches of all time. It is known as the King G-Shock and in this military inspired version it is also a four-star general. Captain America uses one when he forgets his shield to stop bullets and spears. It is built to be super tough; to survive the worst conditions in which a human could find himself.
