If you know your Timex, you’ll know that the Intelligent Quartz Tide-Temperature-Compass form has appeared before as Timex Expedition E-Instruments. Six of these are pictured below – some are still available on amazon.com, eBay and a few retailers if you’re interested in a different colorway.

UPDATE: DECEMBER 9, 2011
Timex constantly changes things, sometimes without apparent reason or logic. A number of the products pictured and described above have re-emerged in the last few days with slight changes to nomenclature and pricing. Our resource for most of the (pricing and availability) information about the Intelligent Quartz (and Expedition / E-Instruments) comes from amazon.com. Otherwise, since Timex.com is so woefully outdated, consumers (who like to shop on-line first) must rely on Timex.ca (Canada) for the latest poop – or at least some of it (note – Canadian prices and nomenclature do not exactly match those used in USA).
We like these watches. It’s not because they are particularly technologically advanced or because they offer any all-in-one mechanisms, though. We’re drawn in by decent feature sets, good looks, more quality than you should expect and incredibly low prices. This blog recommends these products and will continue (occasionally) to update this post with new models and price changes.
