When is a Baby-G not a Baby-G?
This is a trip down the scary path of rebranding. Maybe it is because “Baby-G” is such a poor choice of brand name to do business as, that Casio wanders into the unknown. But S series sounds a little more like it could reference something besides infants (which is what I think of when the word “baby” is used) or very small things (like when seeing a Smart for the first time, “oh, look at this adorable little baby car”). I’m figuring that Casio has determined that there are enough women who do not buy their stuff because it has a huge logo that says, “Baby-G” on it, that might now be interested in the same product when its huge logo is instead, “G-Shock.” Evidently in the “S series,” the S stands for small.
